In April 2022, I had the opportunity to travel to Charleston, South Carolina to work on several shoots with The Styled Collective.
I had the best time exploring Charleston (the last time I visited was in November of 2012 with my husband!) That town is such a representation of me - Southern, Sophisticated, Coastal, & Pink!
The first shoot of the week was with real-life engaged couple Morgan & Blake. I prepped them both at The Millhouse Hotel in downtown Charleston and then we headed out to where the shoot was taking place.
But first, we had to stop and capture this red carpet moment of Morgan outside The Millhouse.
When we arrived at the shoot location, I immediately got chills seeing the precious The Pink Figgy parked in front of the most elegant white antebellum home on Battery Street.
The wind that evening was INSANE! I mean, we were right on the water, but I had done the most perfect vintage waves in Morgan's hair, and the wind, at sustained 30-40 mph, just decimated it by the end of the shoot. However, this was a good lesson in trust for me, because you can't really tell it by looking at these photos.
For this look, I really wanted to represent who I am as a bridal artist, and showcase my favorite makeup & hair techniques, while still playing up Morgan's beautiful features.
I love a sculpted face, a radiant but not "oily" complexion, a daytime smokey eye with a shimmery lid, and a neutral pink lip. Morgan wore this look SO well.
This was a styled shoot with multiple photographers. I loved so many of the images from several of the photographers present that day, so I wanted to share a collection from each, below.
