Meet Sonya, one of the talented bridal makeup artists on the Nashville Wedding Stylist team. With a love for timeless, elegant beauty and an even bigger love for the energy that surrounds a wedding day, Sonya is passionate about helping every bride feel seen, heard, and completely herself. Her approach is all about enhancing what’s already there, creating soft, polished makeup that feels effortless, confident, and true to the person sitting in her chair.
What do you love most about working weddings?
"I truly enjoy wedding because the energy is just different: the positivity and the love is all around and I love being apart of that!"
How would you describe your bridal style in three words?
"Timeless, Elegant, Soft"
What’s one piece of advice you wish every bride knew before her trial and/or wedding day?
"The most important advice that I can give a bride on her wedding day is to take a deep breath and enjoy this moment: she deserves it."
What’s one thing you always prioritize when creating a bridal look?
"I strive to prioritize my bride in general. With every decision that comes with wedding planning, sometime the bride gets lost on her desires because she has been getting opinions from so many other people. I want my brides to always feel seen and heard and to feel their absolute best on their wedding day."
What bridal trend are you loving right now?
"I am loving that brides are wanting to look more like themselves on their wedding day, just more polished. I love creating an elegant, timeless look for them."
What's one product you always have in your bridal kit?
"One product that I will always carry in my bridal kit is the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation. I love this product so much because it truly is a foundation that will keep skin looking like skin."
What's your favorite artist or playlist to listen to while getting everyone ready?
"I am truly a hopeless romantic so I love all the love songs, but late 90s, 00s are my favorites. I can vibe to anything that gets the bridal party dancing and singing together creating an even more fun experience for the special occasion."
What’s your goal for every bride who sits in your chair?
"My goal for every single bride that sits in my chair is to feel their most confident and comfortable, to know that although I’m a tiny part of their day, I will be their biggest cheerleader and I will make sure they feel their absolute best!"
