Marilyn Sullivan and Blake Gross got married on October 21st, 2023 at the beautiful Venue at Birchwood in Spring Hill, TN. We were so honored to be a part of their day.
For the bride & party, we provided on site hair & makeup services. Madison was the lead stylist, and wanted to share with you a bit more about Marilyn's look:
From Madison:
"Marilyn & I met through her sister Marti, who has been a long time pageant competitor and client of mine in that world. Marilyn is a super glam gal on a daily basis, and really wanted to make sure she had the right artist that would deliver the "wow" factor look she was aspiring for on her wedding day, so she did a trial with me very early on in the process. We really connected, and I executed her vision well, so she secured me for the wedding and booked several follow up appointments for a couple of engagement shoots, boudoir, bridal portraits, and the rehearsal. "
"For Marilyn's wedding day look, she wanted "the works" with a snatched contour/highlight, glam smokey eye with glitter & mink lashes, and a deep red lip. For her wedding day hair, we trialed a softer Hollywood Glam Wave look, and she decided that she would rather go with her "signature" textured curl with one side pinned back (a look we had done previously for her other appointments)."
"Marilyn already had a great skincare routine, so minimal skin prep was required on my part, but I did apply a healthy coating of Sonia Roselli Beauty's Water Balm to her under eyes to plump fine lines under her concealer. For her complexion, I used my favorite cocktail of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter + Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation + MHD Cosmetics Hi-Def Foundation to give a long lasting full coverage look that had a satin finish."
"For highlighting & contouring, I used MHD Cosmetics Beauty Stixx in C101 (universal contour shade) and Tarte Shape Tape Concealer for highlighting. Then, I set the under eyes with Givenchy Prism Libre loose powder, and added some Gucci Bronzer & MHD Cosmetics Contour Powder in Shade 11 to the cheekbones for an extra "pop."
For her eyeshadow, I used a combination of Viseart & Makeup by Mario, and then layered on MHD Cosmetics Liquid Shimmer in Stiletto for the glittery effect on the eyelid. Marilyn provided her own favorite style of Lilly Lashes and her favorite lip combo from Jeffree Starr, which of course I applied for her."
"For her hairstyle, I used Bioionic Long Barrel 1.25" Curling Iron and prepped each section with Kenra Heat Block Spray & KYK Magic Dust for extra "fluff." Then, I took the section of hair beside her face on the non-bang side, pulled it back gently, and did a little twist so that we did not need to add any additional decorative hair elements.Â
I stayed by Marilyn's side from the time the venue opened that morning right up until she was introduced into her reception, so everything held up flawlessly, and you can see that represented in her photos by the fabulous Lisa Dean. This was an amazing wedding to be a part of, with a stellar vendor team, couple, and bridal party."
