For Kirsten, bridal beauty is all about helping you feel completely like yourself. As a dual hair and makeup artist, she brings a calm presence, a listening ear, and an eye for soft, authentic beauty to every wedding morning. We sat down with Kirsten to talk bridal trends, wedding-day advice, and what she loves most about celebrating alongside her brides.
What do you love most about working weddings?
"I love the excitement and connection! Having a gathering with your closest friends & family allows all of your inner circles to cross over, and I love getting to be a small part of that. I love getting to know where everyone’s from, sometimes near and sometimes far. Any excuse to celebrate is a good one, but a wedding is arguably one of the best!"
How would you describe your bridal style in three words?
"Skin-focused, ethereal, honest."
What’s one thing you always prioritize when creating a bridal look?
"It’s important to me that my brides feel like them, not just a version of themselves that’s all dolled up. I try my best to understand my brides routines and day-to-day lifestyles so I can understand where the line is drawn between elevated makeup vs. makeup that feels untrue to them. I try my best to be a listening ear first, and then always willing to take the reins if requested."
What’s one piece of advice you wish every bride knew before her trial and/or wedding day?
"There is no pressure to have your makeup done a certain way or to look a certain way. You will show up beautifully in photos because you are YOU, don’t feel pressured to go full glam if it doesn’t feel true to you. Choose a style that feels authentic to you, and the rest will follow! Also- never feel nervous to share anything you’d like to adjust about your look with your artist. We are here to execute exactly what you’d like, and always happy to make adjustments!"
What bridal trend are you loving right now?
"I have been loving the natural, glowy skin trend. It’s a simple way to make makeup feel more you, and still gives the freedom to go more dramatic in other areas (eyes, lip color, etc.)"
What's one product you always have in your bridal kit?
"The D’alba first spray serum! It is my holy grail. It’s the perfect mist to layer between steps, for all skin types!"
What's your favorite artist or playlist to listen to while getting everyone ready?
"I love it all! Anywhere from a slow Hozier song to 80s throwbacks, I’m here for it."
What’s your goal for every bride who sits in your chair?
"It’s important to me that when a bride looks in the mirror, she still feels like herself. It’s my goal to give my brides the space to be completely and authentically themselves, and to ensure there is an open line of communication for any and all potential adjustments. Weddings can sometimes be very fast paced, but it’s my responsibility to be a calm, steady presence."
